AFN7500HD Software Update 

AFN7500HD software version 5.3 release, April 18, 2019

A new software version for the AFN7500HD decoder is now feeding to all decoders over the AFN satellite network. Customers should keep their decoders in standby mode when not in use to ensure the software update downloads and installs automatically to their device.

Software version 5.3 improves the decoder functionality and corrects some bugs as identified.
  1. Customers can now select channels or programs to block on the AFN7500HD decoder using V-CHIP technology. This feature, only required on television sets manufactured after January 2000, is now available on the AFN7500HD decoder as well
  2. Corrected an issue that prevented resetting of the four-digit PIN. Customers wishing to reset their individually entered PIN will have to call the AFN Helpdesk so they can reset the PIN
  3. Corrected the downlink frequency for the AFN feed on the SES-5 satellite
  4. Added the NSS-12 satellite for the three-channel AFN programming package for the Indian Ocean Region. NSS-12 replaces the Intelsat 906 satellite on May 6, 2019 for this region
  5. Corrected an issue where rewind and fast forward did not work when DVR content was paused during playback
  6. Revised the naming convention for the AFN satellite services in the setup menu to reflect the service on each satellite*
* You must complete a factory reset in order for the new satellite names to appear on your decoder setup settings. Refer to the AFN7500HD manual, available on our website under the “troubleshooting help” tab, for step-by-step instructions.
